It would be slim pickings if he actually tried to win some of the disaffected house fraus in metro ATL instead of rallying all of the mouth breathers in SC who will vote for him no matter what

This is true.

Looks like Trump has his future AG Lindsey speaking, he's "very conservative" now after all and ready to help him "drain the swamp". That is unless he makes him Secretary of State or Defense. MAGA baby.

Brocephus, why would a elder Senator with the Grahameister’s senior level clout want to jump sideways into a job that will be twice as stressful? With nothing but ill wishes towards you regardless of your efforts.
That’s a pretty grim assessment of the situation, yes, but accurate particularly in such a case, i.e. lateral move by tenured Senator, with no net gain at the end of the day and probably net loss instead.

Why did Jeff Sessions? You also greatly underestimate how appealing being AG or Secretary of State is to people who have been in the Senate for a while. Why be 1 of 100 Senators when you can have the power of an AG or run State? Lindsey is 67, he can have a job like that for a few years and then retire and make stupid money serving on Boards and consulting. Just have to not completely screw the pooch like Sessions did is the trick, and especially tricky when Trump is your boss.
The point though is folks like Lindsey are who Trump is going to end up appointing. He's not even hiding the ball.

To be fair, it seems quite possible or perhaps obvious that Sessions immediately figured out he made a devastating mistake. Whether it be pure luck of the situation, or by design through coordination of both parties, Sessions seemed to be leaning toward the door regardless. IMO that was the case with most Trump appointments - it seemed like a kick arse idea to jump aboard the train and go around uppercutting punks in Washington who’ve had it coming for a long time.
But the reality they were slammed with was obstruction and harassment on a level never contemplated. Making their duties for all intents and purposes impossible and miserable. And career killing if the bastards had their way.
In Sessions’ specific case, he didn’t even appear to have the physical stamina necessary to survive it. None of them knew to expect it. So out goes Sess, in comes a line of folks whose level of success was even just staving off bandits.
As far as Graham is concerned himself, let’s say the trade off is that in exchange for LG’s assistance and support, and should Trump be successful in a general election situation…..Graham then has an open door policy with the President. And one can envision the advantages of such a setup. For Graham’s part, he is potentially a determinative factor in an eventual primary victory in South Carolina for Trump - and as we saw with Biden, SC can turn an ailing campaign completely around to the tune of winning the entire nomination.

I don't disagree on Sessions but it doesn't change the fact that Graham is almost certainly going to be in Trump's Cabinet. He's too old for the SC and he isn't doing all of this for Trump for fun. So the only question is what job and the most likely are AG or Sec of State. He will also sail through approval.
Like I said, it's pretty obvious that's where this is headed. Lindsey wasn't one of the first to endorse Trump and give him all of his support in SC without something in return. He isn't a naturally generous guy that suddenly got religion with MAGA.

I said it in my previous post, I’ll say it in a more convenient fashion: what Graham receives in the quid pro quo would be a level of access with the President that’s above that of most other Senators and Representatives.

They are picking rural locations where they can get turnout. Very concerned they’ll have smaller crowds if they venture out.

It's the nomination calendar. He has to lock down SC before he deals with Georgia.

Doesn’t make sense on its face to skip the primary process and jump right on ahead to general election campaigning. Seems rather obvious to me.

Keep telling yourself that in spite of all evidence the contrary. Even so, you are admitting that Lindsey is going to be a powerful force within a future Trump Admin with a strong influence on policy. Drain that Swamp!

Certainly rural SC is Trump country and easy travel distance for a lot of his base.
The real point though is Trump is doing very few rallies, in safe areas for him, with lots of notice. He is going to make sure he can get good attendance and put on a big show and campaign as little as possible. It's a facade compared to 2016 and 20 when he was doing daily events all over. Now he does very few events and many of the attendees are people the same people who have attended previous events. They are a show where they are raising money. He hasn't even been signing up volunteers in any serious and organized way.

I find it strange that there’s ubiquitous rumors of 30,000 tickets being reserved but they kept the location the same.
Perhaps they’ve learned from the Oklahoma event in I believe 2020 and know that many of them are fake.
Looks like a pretty big turnout already though:
