I always thought part of it was the scouting report on him was to pitch him inside.

Good post. I was gonna say it was a combination of him standing right on top of the plate, being short and having a smaller strike zone, being a threat to launch one into or over the bleachers and pitchers not wanting to miss over the plate, and his willingness to stand in there and wear it. All contribute to him specially being a magnet, but also the general approach to most of the other guys getting hit more often as well. Little room for pitchers to miss. Miss too far outside and we’ll take it for a ball. Miss over the plate and it gets barreled up. Miss too far in and we get hit and take our base.
