Toledo Bend Suggestions

Going up there with a group of 10 guys in mid-July. We have a guided fishing trip set up for the Saturday, but looking for ideas for Friday. Cypress Bend is closed for renovations until Sept. 1 which would have been perfect. Does anyone have suggestions for restaurants and bars on the lake?
Edit: we are staying at the center of the lake on the LA side. We will have a couple of boats down there.

Living the Dream is a nice set-up for bar/restaurant on the lake.

For eats, go to Toledo Tackle cafe..hamburgers and breakfasts are pretty good. Also, the Market Basket grocery has good fried fish and sides for lunch. For dinner, cross the bridge and on the south side of Hwy 6 is a nice restaurant (don't remember the name) but good food and really cold beer.
As for bars, be selective. I know of a couple but wouldn't recommend them to first time visitors without local accompaniment.
Take care and hydrate and have a good time.

Don’t know where you’re staying but we played Sam Rayburn during our evacuation from Ida. It was a good time.

If you’re looking for a good local bar, check out Friends Front Porch Bar. On the Louisiana side north of the bridge.

One glance at Google and it shows a Zwolle address for Friends Front Porch, ummm…I haven’t lived in Sabine Parish in a long time but 30 years ago, folks from outside Zwolle rarely hung out in bars around there, unless they liked razor blade scars.

He’s looking for a bar, not a quilting bee. We went last year and the bar had friendly locals and camp owners just enjoying themselves. The beer and the A/C were very cold as we went in July too.

I really like Girlfriend's place,(Front Porch) been knowing the owner for a good while. Nice and friendly, although wouldn't advise getting too rambunctious. It's a Zwolle address but it's a ways from Zwolle and it's not anything like Maria's bar used to be. My favorite was Blue's but it's not open anymore as I understand.

It's nothing like the "real" Zwolle bars.

Two new disc golf courses at North Toledo Bend State Park if you play. Got some good barbecue at Uncle Wayne's BBQ on 191 south of Zwolle. That's all I got.
