Ozuna

And he’s too big of a piece of this offense anyway. Trading him would defeat the purpose of keeping this lineup in tact and going all in to win. Grissom’s bat would probably still play in this lineup, but more for average only. You’d be giving up a lot of not just power production, but power potential. Ozuna’s threat has a cumulative effect and lengthens the lineup in a way that Grissom isn’t ready to do yet.

That and he's the unquestioned leader of that clubhouse (along w/Ozzie). Everyone in there adores him, especially the Latin players.

starting pitching is not our issue

It is becoming an issue.

If Max comes back and his usual self, and Strider continues making strides(no pun intended) from his last start, along w/Elder and Charlie, that's a really good 4 and an elite top-2.

Sure. Those ifs are just doing a lot of work. Fingers are crossed.

I'm not worried about Strider like others have been.

I am cautious about Max. Anytime you hear forearm associated w/a pitcher it gives pause. But if he comes back and is Max, this team is golden.

2 ifs. And hoping Elder and Morton stay doing what they’re doing. While hoping Elder isn’t a Jair Jurrjens 2.0 and realizing how old Morton’s arm is.

Of course you’re not. You’re an unrealistic optimist.

Which, make no mistake, is much better than being a constant downer, but everything is not always gonna work out for the best. And if AA waits too long to find out, it could be too late. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst and all that.!

I'll take that as a compliment.

No use going through life miserable.

And I have full trust in AA.

Jair Jurrjens

There's a name I haven't heard in a long time.

And Elder will not suffer the same fate as JJ IMO.

I think Acuña did the right thing there with Riley most likely not beating that throw.

Sure, but the out at first was pretty much a given. I like a little risky business on the bases with Acuña

I'd more rather get thrown out being aggressive than not, especially if you know that the trail runner has no chance.

I mean, Jair went downhill because of injuries, that's kinda hard to predict.

Elder isn't as good as his ERA this year most likely, but since he's dropped the cutter his numbers have matched up with a #3 starter type, so he's sustainable for the most part as a consistent #3/#4 as long as he maintains a good control/walk rate. The high ground ball rate gives him a good chance to outperform his peripherals as well.
