Have you noticed some of the holes at US Open do not have a gallery?

Just seems like it's not loud and the video doesn't show good viewing area's.

Very limited number of tickets sold. There is also no grandstand on number 18. The members didn’t want the view of the clubhouse to be blocked by a giant grandstand.

There is not a lot of room on the property. The grandstand along the right side of 1 fairway intrudes over a bunker.
Also many greens are very close to other greens or tees. Not much empty space.
I read that the daily limit for spectators is about 22k.

LACC bought half of the USGA's allotment. Guess they wanted to keep the riff-raff ( normal people) out.
