I've seen first be sold out though.


I fly about the same on United (granted not LA) and have seen economy sold out with first available but as others have said, it aint going for a $130 "upgrade". Thats the bullshite.

To be fair I see a first class upgrade for my flight next week from Chicago to Cleveland for $134. But that’s also a short flight into a small city.

The flight back to Chicago, first class upgrade is $330.

If it's "close in" like she said, elite upgrades should start processing opening up seats in the back of the plane. They usually leave a couple of F seats until the flight goes under gate control, but it's not gonna be $130 difference. How do they even know the difference if economy is "Sold Out"

This is my DFW-JFK flight in a couple of weeks. First has been sold out for a while but there are still lots of seats in Economy
