I'm fairly fair skinned, but can "tan" slightly.

I have had a melanoma, and a couple of basal cell carcinomas removed. None of them were pleasant experiences. I wear long sleeves, hat, and a gator fishing. I need a new hat with a brim to cover more, however.

You need a Shelta hat. If you buy any other fishing hat, you made a mistake.

My family has a history on my mom's side so she drilled it into me to cover up and use sunscreen, etc. I have made it into my 60s without any so far.

I have a great full coverage hat from Duluth Trading Co. Best hat I’ve ever had. I use the Magellan Realtree Blue with hood and neck gater. Has the thumbholes where you can cover most of the back of your hand. Skin cancer is no joke.
