It’s obviously a political prosecution but Trump’s dumb arse keeps compounding the problem by not complying, obfuscating, and not listening or taking legal advice and he gets these process crimes piled on him. He should have known better by this point. Again that part was totally avoidable.

DeSantis wouldn’t be making these mistakes.

Yes, I don't think anyone is arguing that (BamaAtl, et al aren't around)

Exactly.

2016 Trump wouldn't be making these mistakes, either.

His fans keep pretending that he's got the same mental ability/clarity.

He’s having trouble putting a legal defense team together.

I don't really care to tie Trump's recklessness to this prosecution, although I'll acknowledge that truth if asked about it.

But I just find it so odd that the expectations for Trump to handle himself with maturity and diligence are so low among his supporters, but everyone else is expected to give their very best for him (including rival candidates).

Trump doesn't care about this prosecution other than to the extent it garners him more attention and celebrity. But I'm supposed to see this as a hill to die on?

Candidly, I see the merit in the underlying fight, but people expecting us to ignore the clownish guy at the middle of it aren't being realistic.
