He is in the US Wrestling Hall of Fame

Won like 8 state titles in a row at one point

Cool, I like these types of relative unknowns. I'll throw Casey Sanders-WM Powerlifting coach in there too then. He's in the H.O.F. too and I think he's won double digit titles. He's the biggest reason WM has the rings in football that they have.

I don't really know if coach Sam qualifies for best coaches. Didn't he get fired for choking a kid or something of the sort?? Coach Dautreive at BM was pretty good from what I remember. As for Lavie, that man was a nut but thought he was awesome, nonetheless.

Brother Melchior Polowy (Holy Cross) for wrestling.

Team won 22 state titles in 23 years (1945-1968). Considered to be the father of wrestling in Louisiana.

Also in the Wrestling HOF.

Coach Sam

Jesuit won 11 in a row.. from 1988-1998.

Coach Sam won 18 state championships total at Jesuit.
