My wife and I just returned from a vacation in Mentone, AL. Beautiful, quiet little town in the mountains in northeastern Alabama. Our house was right on the brow of the mountain overlooking the valley below. It was 58 degrees yesterday morning when we left. Can't wait to go back. Great for hiking and sightseeing. Has anyone else been there?

I live up here in DeKalb County. DeKalb and Jackson counties really are hidden gems. Tons of natural beauty, outdoor activities, and close proximity to ATL, Chattanooga, Nashville, Huntsville and BHM.

Found the house on VRBO. It was beautiful. About $200/night and worth every penny.

Did you happen to eat at the Tiger’s Inn Cafe down in Valley Head? If not, you need to be sure to check it out next time you are in the area.

Yes we ate at the Tiger's Inn twice while there. Loved that place. My wife loved the pancakes. Had breakfast there yesterday morning before we drove home.

Was driving through a couple years ago and hiked to the bottom of Desoto Falls and went swimming down there. Cool spot for sure!

Next time you go you should take a short drive across the border to Unicoi outfitters in Ga and do a guided fly fishing trip.
