Well the problem is most of the garbage shipped here from China and Asia currently flows through CA ports like Long Beach.
I guess you could ship it to Seattle or expand rail use but you are adding to shipping costs massively.
If you have to go through the Panama Canal to FL, TX or GA you’ve added a ton of time and fuel costs to your shipping.
Now the strange part here is that this would make US production seem more attractive if we had the right president in the White House, but I guess it remains to be seen how it will play out?
Possibly just electric semis running to the NV border where the freight is handed off to ICE semis for cross country shipping?

None of this is possible, because we don’t have the port capacity without the CA ports.
