“We can beat them,” UK second baseman Emilien Pitre said. “We can play with them.”
not sure what else we'd expect them to say.

They certainly CAN beat us. That 2nd game was anyone’s last time we met. I was there.

It would be awkward as F- if the Kentucky players did not believe in their abilities. The Kentucky players were not dogging the Tiger Program in any way. Champions believe in themselves. May the best team go to Omaha.

Thinking they have a chance to win = bulletin board material

Out of the teams LSU has already played still in supers UK is the one I would want over Tenn, USC, and Bama.
I still think Tenn has the best staff remaining in the tournament.
The USC offense is very good as well.
Bama scares me more than UK.
Both teams have changed a lot since that series.
Little started game 3 and he's not starting in this series. Jones was in the lineup at that time and Travinski was not.
UK pitchers who started against LSU are not starting in this series.

If you need bulletin board material to get ready for a super regional game with a chance to go to Omaha you’ve already lost the series.

“Their team is built with more superstars,” Pitre said. “Paul Skenes, Dylan Crews, Tommy White, those three guys really lead the team over there. Here, everyone in the team helps the team win. It’s more of a team against superstars.”
Travinski is about to frick Kentucky’s mom

Can’t imagine the reaction when Jay says “Men, all eyes on the whiteboard” and writes LINK
Kentucky shouldn’t even travel

Kentucky held Crews, who is hitting .432 entering the super regional, to three hits in nine at-bats in the April series but walked him six times.

Only one healthy LSU pitcher other than Skenes has an ERA under 4.00 this season. Right-handed pitcher Ty Flood, ranked as a top-100 prospect in the 2023 draft class by MLB.com, surrendered just one run in three innings in a start against Oregon State in the regional, but Kentucky scored five runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings against him in April.

I mean sure they can beat us. Miss State did

I love these.
But conveniently don’t say that in the first three inning they gave up 14 runs and LSU outscored them 33-24 for the whole series.
Also conveniently leaves out that 3 of those earned runs were when LSU was up 14-1. That kind of changes a pitchers mindset. Then Kentucky decided to talk trash to Skenes for some dumb reason. He proceeded to strike out the last 5 batters he faced.

God forbid another team shows some confidence.

If the team needs bulletin board material to win a Super and go to Omaha then we have bigger issues.
