I mean, the match official drug them into a cup semifinal (a match Messi could presumably play in) the day the Messi news broke.

Seeing as Real is my favorite team, I've hated Messi long before this. Of course Orlando City is my second favorite soccer team and he is now going to our rival. Even more reason to hate him.
On top of all that, MLS has bent over backwards to break the rules for certain teams and it is bullshite. Either enforce the rules or take the financial gloves off and let the owners sink or swim.
