I’m not positive about this, but wouldn’t LSU’s staff minus Skenes be far superior to any other staff in this regional minus the guy that started Game 1?

That is, would you rather be going into today with LSU’s available pitchers or any other in the regional?

What are the percentages of it is assumed Skenes gets you a W either way? I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, but your competition’s pitching has to be a part of this logical sequence, right?

See this is where you guys keep losing me, you keep assuming throwing Skenes is playing “scared” but are preaching logic. There’s plenty of reasons to throw him Game 1, and I think Johnson showed his logic by keeping him in all game. It wasn’t about being scared, it was about trusting bats and the rest of the staff relative to the competition.

It’s a gamble, and he could very well lose and give himself an easy line of criticism. But if anyone is scared, it would be easy to argue that it is the guys on this board that wish Skenes was going tonight and can’t get over that he won’t.

That's just what most of us who question the decision are arguing from.
