Saw tickets 40% off now, anyone catching this show?

He is Mandy Moores ex right?
Has the news of his mistreatment to abuse of her destroyed his career? Was he on the way to bigger things? Or was he always going to be a theater level singer songwriter.
And of course, if all that was said is true, frick him.

I got that e-mail from the Saenger and thought what an odd % to knock off ticket prices. Why not just BOGO it?

saenger is what? 2000 seats? they must be really struggling to move tickets.

Ryan Adams is fantastic live. A chicken hawk but quality artist.

$35 tickets in balcony… plus an additional $25 in fees

It pretty much wrecked his career while at the height of it. He wasn’t going to get much bigger. Not surprised he’s struggling to move tickets.

He toured solo for months last year and into this one and it looked like ticket sales weren't an issue. He was filling mid size theaters for the most part.
He's touring with the "Cardinals" now, which isn't exactly the Cardinals of old, but it's a full band vs him solo.
He definitely fricked himself for a while there, so not sure if that's carrying over since he seemed to do pretty well with his solo tour, but I'm sure some of this probably has to do with that.

Don’t know what Ryan Adam’s ticket sales are looking like for other cities. Might be the New Orleans summer time slow down. I see Reset festival dropped its ticket price too.

Sales are same across the board. Terrible. I think he's downsizing venues in some markets.

Think You are right. Lots of people on /r/RyanAdams are commenting on low sales. Some are saying he saturated some markets with his solo shows (not applicable for New Orleans though). He sold out the Orpheum last time he was here

He overestimated and signed on to play too big of venues for this tour. He sold out his previous solo tour in theatres.
In Charlotte he was only able to sell the mid sections and lawn tickets for the amphitheater. They moved it to a large standing only venue which looked packed in pictures. The fans seem to like the shows. The only complaints have been that they are too jammy and the songs don’t sound exactly like the originals. Note that keyboards/organ has replaced the guitar steel that really made the first couple of Cardinals albums great.

I’m going to see them tomorrow at Avondale in birmingham
I don’t think it’s close to a sellout

Good set.
I could see the “little too jammy” comments
Band was great though.
Seemed like it was forever ago but that first song power issue was an adventure.
Venue was generally empty.

Really enjoyed the Show tonight. Ryan later said his health wasn’t great but he seemed to be enjoying himself. I enjoyed the jams and ended the night strong with Lucinda Williams song Crescent City. Very happy I went.

Good show. I thought the setlist dragged along a little but the band was on point. Saenger was very chill.

By chill, he means empty
Upstairs was worse.
Which was still fun but…ouch. They really missed on the venue selection.

Crazy how empty that place looks. Saw him at the CIVIC after he released “Prisoner” and it was packed.

The Saenger holds more than twice as many as the Civic. He’d have done better to play there or the Orpheum.
