It made the entire congress into a glorified House of Representatives and diluted the power of the states.

It is the states who created the federal government. The states are prime, not the other way around.

Everything. There is literally no positive.

Making the Senate a smaller House with larger districts and longer terms was incredibly stupid and short sighted.

So y'all prefer a corrupt state Representatives select someone as opposed to casting your own vote? I'll take my chances with MY vote.

The House of Representatives is designed by the founders to do the business of the People. The Senate was to do the business of the states.

Those two are not the same thing.

The 17th Amendment undid this very important separation of powers.

Currently that would mean 52 Republican-appointed Senators.
