Here's what I like about this, since he and Trump are similar on this topic:
When Trump is challenged on this, it'll be all "it's the worst travesty ever, I was screwed, these people were there but I was the victim..." so on and so forth, it'll be all about him and the injustice against him. And none of that resonates at all with most Americans.
When DeSantis is asked, he'll very likely talk about how most of those caught up in this did absolutely nothing, that they strolled through the capital less than 6 months after hordes burned our cities and killed 2 dozen people and got away with it, that Kamala Harris and Democrats advocated for terrorism in our streets with no accountability, and no, he's not going to let a slanted justice system railroad people who didn't commit violence, didn't commit destruction, just because that system didn't like the hat those people were wearing.
