3 years since the X-Box 360 came out

2 years since the Playstation 3 came out

Rank them and tell why one is ahead of the other.

If I were you I would buy a lottery ticket for the next mega millions then. Everyone that I know who got a system in the launch window has had the RROD atleast once and most of them twice.

I would say the PS3 is the winner at this point.

The fact that BR is winning the media battle gave PS3 a slight edge, but the new Netflix setup will negate that. Number and quality of games and the online play puts the 360 ahead of PS3 in my book.

And don't kid yourself to think that there aren't plenty of issues with the PS3 breaking.

I'm the opposite. I play my 360 way more than I play my PS3. I really liked the PS2 controller when it can out but now after playing with the 360 controller for so long I've grown to like it a lot more than the PS controllers.

I have all the systems. I am not a hater of any. Based on games and online play.
Xbox 360 as a gaming machine is number one.
PS3 in second base on the same above.
Wii in third base on the same above.

i'm happy with my ps3. i considered the 360 but the blu-ray player sold me. plus i had a ps2 and the sony controller was familiar. i didn't like the big, clunky x-box controllers. just a personal preference. the free online isn't bad either. and i haven't had any technical problems with it.

i know the 360 has exclusives like halo and gears of war but the library of games available on the ps3 keeps me busy. and i think if killzone 2 is as good as advertised, it could be the halo/gears of the ps3.

Got my PS3 when it came out 2 years ago. Wouldn't trade it for anything. I only wish it had a little more connectivity with wi-fi devices like my iphone.

I agree. Physical media will go by way of the Dodo bird in the next 10 years anyway.

I don't think you can truly say one is ahead of the other. They are both successful. If you want to go by sales, then the 360 is ahead, but by that argument, the Nintendo Wii is FAR ahead for whatever reason. That boggles my mind because the games for the Wii are 99% garbage.
