IMO, the brand identity of UL-L in athletics is their nickname - The Ragin Cajuns. One day, maybe in my great grandchildren’s lifetime, they will get national recognition with “Louisiana”. LSU is a national brand known worldwide and it understandably irks UL-L supporters. No one can blame them to continue to work toward obtaining that goal. Go anywhere outside of Louisiana, and they can’t tell you where UL-L is even located. However, the University does have cred academically and you have to consider them top tier athletically in their conference, the Sunbelt.

It will be interesting to see how much longer ULL remains relevant now that the NIL era has started. Seems like a good place for P5 schools to poach talent

The SID makes sure that the networks call them UL when they are on tv. The personalities don’t do that cause they know it off the top of their head. They know it’s a directional school in Louisiana
