You can buy sockets designed specifically for spark plugs. Just need to get the size of your spark plug and head to the hardware store and buy a matching socket.
These sockets fit on standard ratchets (usually 3/8" ratchets) and are designed to keep the plug from shattering during insertion or removal. Some have rubber inserts to protect the spark plug, but I think a lot of people like the magnetic ones better.
Also, you can buy them with swivel arms, which might be more convenient than just buying the socket by itself. Something like this one from Amazon:
