I’ve been focusing on building my lower body up and doing more heavy squats and DLs. My knees are starting to feel it in the joints. Any good supplements for joint issues? Is collagen any good?

Never had much luck with supplementation. I've added collagen to my protein shakes. I also take several Omega 3,6,9. Knees Over Toes does a good job with joint mobility.

You think it’s mobility or just being old and having miles on them?

The guy has built his reputation on rebuilding knees. Supplementation is not any part of his program. He's all about adding strength at length. His theory is that strengthening at length improves blood flow to the joint and helps rebuild/strengthen the tendons as well as the muscles. I started it as a preventative, so I'm not sure if it will actually heal anything.

I tried the common glucosamine/chondroiten and it did nothing FOR ME.

I use this and get at Costco when it's on sale every other month:

Turmeric is a known strong anti inflammatory.
2 /day and after ~2 weeks my osteoarthritis knee pain and elbow tendonitis disappeared.
Stopped taking them and the pain returned.
Resuming taking them and pain is gone.

Say what you want, but that's "proven" enough for me.

If you're a Costco member they'll take it back if it doesn't work for you no matter how many are left in the bottle.

Someone here recommended this in another thread a while back. I had been through a round of PT with my back, and started taking this. I still get the occasional pain back there, but not that often anymore. I had a slight bulging disc and this has really helped.

LSU7777777 bat signal. Does something like Turmeric prevent or reduce hypertrophy?

Tumeric is the bomb for joints. Collagen is also awesome. Glucosamine is garbage.

From experience, times that I've had knee pain, it wasn't the knee causing the pain.

Do the sofa stretch (youtube) for quads and hip flexors.

Foam roll your IT band (youtube)

If I may…it’s a natural herb you can season food with. So not sure how or why it would mess with hypertrophy. I’m strongly considering getting on it because my inflammation has gotten pretty bad.

What does your programming look like? How is your recovery? Are you sleeping enough? What does your nutrition look like?
