DFW Airport and American Airlines announced a new agreement yesterday that is going to add more gates to Terminals A and C as well as fully remodel the existing gates in C. Probably gonna be a nightmare going through there the next couple of years but should be nice when it's all said and done.

Also, Terminal F is getting built but it doesn't look like it'll have any landside access so you're likely gonna have to take the train to Terminal D for Check-In and Baggage Claim.

C is a dump.

I don’t think it’ll be too bad. Since terminals are spread out I find it’s easier to get around

The new high C gates finally got remodeled and those were the "temporary" gates that had been there for decades. Anything is gonna help in C. And the piers they're adding to C and A are going to take some mainline gates offline for a bit which may screw up some taxi times but overall shouldn't be terrible.

I'm scratching my head as to why they're gonna build F without any facilities for arrivals/departures and not connect it to D except with the Skylink.

Hope you all that fly through DFW and use American don't get the IAH/United treatment.

The airport has been a cluster for 2yrs with another year or two left. It is miserable.

I'm an ex-AA frequent flyer that switched over to UA, so I know it all too well.

If you look closely at the rendering for Terminal F you'll notice that there is no landside access, something which DFW has had at all of their terminals since its inception. Instead, there is just a station and a walkway connecting the Skylink train to the terminal. Presumably, with Terminal D being the closest terminal that has landside access, arriving and departing passengers would need to use it for check-in and baggage claim.

This sounds miserable. Who would want to operate flights out of a different terminal than check-in even if it's brand new? Sounds a little like Seatac with check-in at the main area and then taking the train to terminals N or S.

I'm also interested to see if there will be some sort of bus operation as there will be no way to access Terminal F should the Skylink break down, which does happen from time to time

Who comes up with this? All for a measly 1.63 billion dollars. Also only 15 gates in a linear concourse? They need to go back to the drawing board and start over

It drives me insane. They don't connect it landside, they don't connect it airside with a walkway, they will be fully reliant on the SkyTrain which loves to break down.

For $100+ million per gate, we get this
