Notre Dame and Navy play in Dublin this year. The wife (sorry, no pics) and I are going a week early. Renting a car in Dublin then headed west to Galway and West Port. Then down to Waterford. Eventually ending up back in Dublin for the game.

Interesting itinerary.

Why Westport or Waterford? They’re both merely OK but you can do much better (imho). From Galway, I’d instead go South to the Cliffs of Mohler, Doolin, either of the Rings of Kerry or of Cork.

The City of Cork and environs >>>>>> the City of Waterford and environs

Kinsale and Cobh are great, Midleton if you’re a Whiskey fan and then scoot up the M8 stopping at Cashel.

Avoid Blarney Castle, it’s overrated.

If you can work the village of Adare (near Limerick) into your travels, do so.

Again, all this is just one (my) personal opinion.

Good luck!
