String question. Acoustic Guitar.

Not another "what strings?" questions. I have my favorites.
I have a set that I enjoy until the last couple days.
They are in tune, but do not sound in tune? Tuner says yes. Its my Martin and its never had an issue like this or intonation issues. I am playing songs I normally practice with. Weird.
Ever deal with this? Just bum set of strings? They are only 3 weeks old?

Is there a particular string that sounds out of tune, or the whole set?

I feel like it’s the b string.
But like I mentioned, when I put on the tuner it’s fine.

Consistently using the same gauge?

It's the guitar, something is wrong with it. You should probably sell it to me cheap, so I can recycle it.
It's my "cash for B-string blunders" program.

Is it in tune when you play it open but out of tune when you fret it? Or just always out of tune?
Also does it sound sharp or flat?

Nope. Not selling. Your rescue program sounds noble. It is fretted and sounds sharp. Just holding random Cowboy Chord type chords. The “fanciest” being a b-minor.
Bought some strings I know I like at guitar center and already changed them. If problem persists I will start another thread with the FretShack “bat signal”.

Have you checked intonation? Any buzzing?

You may have owned the strings three weeks, but that doesn't mean they are three weeks old.
Strings don't necessarily expire but they do deteriorate sitting in warehouses and on shelves, even in sealed advanced packaging their brands tout.
A lotta strings you see priced at MAP (minimum advertised price) or lower than MAP ("call for price" in ads) via big box outlets' special sales and blowouts and SDOTDs are old overstock being blown out because they have sat on the shelf for a spell. It could be the raw wire in spools at the factory that waited a long time to be used, or the final packaged product sitting in their warehouse, or sitting in the big box's warehouse or fulfillment center, or even on a retail rack.
Also, don't know if it applies here but I'll throw this out there too ... use POPULAR brand/alloy/gauge strings if at all possible, so that you know you are buying an in-demand item whose stock is always cycling.
The most popular acoustic gauge across all manufacturers are lights (12s), and the most popular acoustic alloy among all manufacturers is phosphor bronze.

I buy from Stringbymail when I want to get fancy.
These were rotosound strings. I like coated strings so I got some of theirs. If I grab something other than phosphor bronze it’s an accident.
Put some clear tones on and they sound fine. Just stretching them in.
I am guilty of liking an odd gauge. 11-50’s. It in my head but those 0.002’s of an inch are massive to me. Or 0.003!! Too big. Lol.
