The crawfishermen are obviously worried that the squares are catching on to their generations-old game of frickery where the prices have constantly skyrocketed, no matter whether rain increased, decreased or remained constant.
I imagine they'll be offering "free range" and "pond raised" crawfish at a significant premium in the near future.

demand has skyrocketed.
crawdads are everywhere in TX restaurants now as well as live at HEB stores. it's never been easier to find them cooked or live. 5+ years ago live crawfish had to be ordered ahead of time from seafood shops. now you can walk into HEB and grab a sack, they don't take orders. lots of stores setup commercial boil rigs outside the front door & sell by the pound, too.
has production increased accordingly? i have no idea.
don't forget non-GMO & organic. made in the USA, nobody wants that crap from china.

They really haven’t in the last five years or so.
And where they have, it’s generally because of major demand in other states and your venues are probably charging much more to eat onsite
