re: Who is your favorite 2nd tier character in “Game of Thrones”?

They’re main characters in Season 1, but obviously so small screen time for the entire series that they may fall into 2nd tiers:
Ned Stark
Robert Baratheon
Khal Drogo
All the characters from Season 1 had so much depth and acting power behind them that just fell off with newer characters as the show went on

If we are going by the books then Stannis. Unfortunately the show writers openly admitted that they don’t like the character and that is why they had him end up the way he did in the show. I would have to go with Ser Davos. He was one of the few characters who was a genuinely good person and unlike others he didn’t have some drastic change in personality that came out of nowhere. He was a loyal guy to Stannis up until the end and he was loyal to Jon. Even before Jon was resurrected he guarded his body with Jon’s loyal friends and was prepared to fight to the death. He was kind to Shireen, rescued Gendry knowing that he could be killed for it. While grey characters can be fun, it’s nice to see a man portrayed as just a good person overall and yet he is still a fun character.

Stannis was completely neutered in the show.
He is a badass in the books.

He had some of my favorite quotes from the book. I would follow him into battle.

Page 4 and I'm the first to mention Hodor?

Love Hodor. But he’s a bit one note…

Exactly. Davos had honor, but he wasn't blinded by it like Ned.

The Hound and The Blackfish

The Blackfish is a good one.
His disdain when Edmure can’t get the arrow to Hoster’s funeral barge is wonderful to watch. He doesnt even watch to see if his shot made it. Walks away. That’s a man.
