Skip made him sign batting practice balls to trade out with real game baseballs because we couldn’t afford new balls.

fricking awesome!

How has this story never surfaced before?

I guess that’s how incredible skip was, so many stories, great ones like this never get talked about

It’s up there with the SEC tourney game that finished at like 2am. The broadcast group was delirious and saying off the wall commentary. It was gold!

As a Rangers fan I always loved Delucci. He’s a fun guy that’s super nice

I like how he was talking about Ole Miss fans getting lubed up for the concert

It was indeed one of the best broadcasts ever. It’s just a shame Lyn couldn’t have been there with them instead of that Gravel Mouth.

They certainly were having a lot of fun today, one of the best broadcasts for a non competitive game

He’s what made it - he was ‘the straw that stirred the drink’. He’d feed them a snippet and Ben and D would take it and run. It was perfect.

What’s the story with Delucci…why didn’t he go to LSU? I don’t remember, but I’m guessing we didn’t offer?

The booth banter was fantastic. It was like a podcast with a game going on.

Def shows the times for college baseball at LSU. Story made me laugh thinking of coaches getting mad for putting dirt on the new pearl balls they would break out. God forbid, you didn’t let the hitters see a new bright arse white ball coming down the plate.

Delluci's story about the mimeographed copy of the offer to walk-on and earn book money from LSU was funny. Just a reflection of the talent that Skip had coming in the door during the early 1990s.

Makes me realize, although I was here and pulling for each championship team skip had, just how much of an impact he and his time had on college baseball overall.
