Are we in the running for a lottery pick this year? Or are we just good enough to where we don't qualify for one but just bad enough not to make the playoffs? Would love to draft another Zion/Alvarado type player with unlimited upside potential

We are in the lottery with the worst odds, 14th spot overall, 2.4% to get into top 4, 0.5% chance to get 1st overall. So we’re picking 14th

It will be interesting if we land a top 4 pick and get the opportunity to take anybody than Wemby. At that point, one of our big 3 has to go. You don't take players top 5 to be bench players..

So many potential ways to dissect this statement...

I'm not asking for 1, just give me 2. Is that so much to ask for?

Alvarado does not have unlimited potential.
he's not tall.
he's not tall for his position.
he has agility and a great attitude. he can improve his shooting.
he defends hard and smart, like hart.

zion has potential because his success happens even though there were 3 guys on my street in high school in lake charles who all shot better. so his ceiling is mostly based on having no 3 pt set shot, no off the ground flying jump hook, no anything but close in.
and recently the defense is meh. room there to improve too.
