Both defendants in the "Auto-Keycard" case we just both convicted...

Federal prosecutor has asked the judge to inform the jury that the gov't doesn't have to prove that the keycard can be formed to make a firearm a machine gun. All they have to prove is that they sold them. Judge has yet to allow it or deny it.
Apparently, the trial was going great for the defendants, Matt Hoover and Justin Ervin. However, today is the last day of the trial, and the Fed gov't did this as a last ditch effort to get a conviction.
The ATF cut one out of these out and they couldn't get it to function properly.
Hoover never sold a card. Just advertised it on his YouTube channel and he's still on trial. Justin was the gun dealer that sold them.

Prosecuting these guys is ridiculous but I have to ask...
These two dudes didn't think they would end up in court over this?
And apparently their product is shite if the ATF tech guys couldn't make it work. Maybe they should be tried for Fraud and not a gun crime?

Maybe they should have tried a piece of shoestring with a loop tied on each end.

I am certain; just certain, that the jurors felt zero pressure from the federal government for a guilty verdict. And I am certain that the federal government wants what’s best for all citizens. And I am certain that the federal justice system has not been weaponized. And I am certan that the ATF, CIA, and FBI are all on our side.

Damn. I thought this case might have been the big one that would bring down the evil infringers including the NFA. Does anyone know if they used Bruen in their defense?

One of Hoover's attorneys, Matthew Larosiere, said part of the appeal is likely to involve issues raised by the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling last year in New York State Rifle & Pistol arse'n, Inc. v. Bruen, a case where the justices said regulations that didn't violate the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution needed a "historical tradition of firearm regulation."

I really don’t know how the YouTube guy got convicted. He never sold anything.

I've known Justin since elementary school days. I hate this happened to him, but I predicted it before he even had the website up Saw an early prototype card via a mutual friend, and was kinda thankful I didn't own an AR
