Today is the day, people...

Unless you are in one of the several states with an automatic disaster tax extension, today is the day to file your federal tax return and/or file for an extension.
Louisiana state tax only deadline is still May 15th. Most other states follow the federal deadline.
I remember back before e-filing was so big, each city would have a major post office stay open until midnight on tax day. In NOLA, that was the Loyola Ave post office, where workers would stand in the parking lot with bins to collect your tax return envelopes.
They don't do that anymore. If you are an old fart who still files on paper, or if you have a payment to make via check, you need to get to the post office before they close with regular hours.
As always, Uncle Sam thanks the members of the MT board for their generous, perhaps overly generous, contributions to your nation's growing government!

I sent my Louisiana returns at the same time as Federal.
Last year I forgot to send them in in May and got a late notice/fine.

I'm a sick person.
Paid estimated taxes and was hoping for a big number because I'm planning on buying myself up to Hyatt Globalist status.
Tax me harder! Please!

Yep. Most expensive day of the year for me. Taxes and first qtr estimates due on the same day.
