Looking for recommendations on places to stay in Lake Tahoe. Open to hotels or airbnb's. Also what is the best month to go? We are pretty flexible

Summer is the best. Although late summer is forest fire season. Last 2 years it was bad in the area. The Edgewood is the nicest/most expensive. Was well worth it with a private beach/water sports and 2 restaurants to eat at on property. The public beach and main area around heavenly village with shops and restaurants gets super packed.

If you have kids, north Lake Tahoe would be my choice. Lots of choices for places to stay; all depends on how much you want to pay.
Otherwise, south shore has more action for adults.
July is a great month there.

Lived there for an entire summer. I’m partial to South Lake. Depending on ages, I’m not sure what is great for kids in the area. Edgewood Golf Course is legit in South Lake.

Edgewood Tahoe Resort if you want luxury.
Tahoe Beach and ski club if you want affordable.
