What platform to get Diablo 4 on?

Really looking forward to Diablo 4 and looking forward to playing with friends. Does anyone know if it's going to be cross platform? Like truly cross platform.
Can I buy it on the PS5 and play with friends who got it on a comp? Can I get it on a comp as Ultimate Edition and play on PS5 with the same stuff, or would I have to buy 2 Ultimate editions?
Tried to read some articles but no one seems to answer these specific questions. Hoping the gaming board can help me out.
Also, which platform would be best to buy it on? Any reason not to get console if I prefer to play on console?

I wont be purchasing due to their insistence on treating this franchise as "games as a service"

PC only if performance issues from the beta were fixed otherwise I’m passing entirely.

I played the beta on PC and PS5 and it was definitely smoother on the PS5. TIFWIW.
Also, it's cross progressiin. So if money isn't an option, just get it on both.
