One thing this show taught me:

Older fat white women love them some African or Dominicans

Loser white men love them some Russian/Ukrainians

I feel like the ball has been dropped on such quality programming lately.

You'd likely be surprised by the vast array of people that get sucked into that bullshite. It was the topic of conversation at my in laws today from folks of all age ranges, different backgrounds, and others that I would have never ever thought would watch those shows.

In a way, everyone in this thread, thoroughly enjoying this cheap brainless-but-entertaining reality programming, is responsible for the death of the history, science, nature & educational high-quality documentary programming that used to be prevalent on major cable channels.

Screw y'all for making me visit Curiosity Stream & MagellanTV on a laptop.

My wife keeps up with MAFS and we watch the 90 day Fiance together. It like a train wreck you cannot stop looking at. Some of these people are so dumb. The new one has a blonde from LA and Muslim from Egypt. And it's going exactly as one would expect that relationship to go.

Who was the obese white girl that was shacking up with a guy from Africa?

You're probably thinking of Nicole.

I'll say this: Isabel and Gabe just might be my favorite couple ever.

The first couple of seasons of MAFS they legitimately seemed concerned with making a good match with people who are compatible (which is why only the early season couples are still together). It later became obvious that they were pairing them for drama, because the compatible couples were boring. Such as pairing a hippie with a red neck, introvert with an extrovert or playa with a virgin. Made for lots of drama but no long term relationships. This is why only one couple on the "Bachelor" is still together.

My wife and dad bond over trashy TV shows like this.

I know right? I expected the hard push and wokeness but he’s incredibly normal and nice. Her family is great too including her parents.

This is probably typical. There are probably plenty nice trans folk who just want to live a normal life and not be bothered. It's the crazies who make all the noise.

Mine was the basketball player and short, fun sporty looking girl. She seems cool and a nice catch, but he literally gave zero f’s. I’m not sure why he even went on the show. This was MAFS.

My wife and I are constantly watching for this because once the suspension of desbelief is gone, we're out. If you watch the international MAFS shows, they're straight trash tv in that way. Right now, the U.S. MAFS still maintains the appearance of integrity. Some of the pairings are getting a little suspect, however.

The white dude that played international ball and who dreamed of starting a mobile detailing company? That dude was philandering shithead.

-My wife and I used to love the 90 Day series and would watch every one of them that came out. We haven't been in on the ground floor but it's probably been several yeras. I feel like when we first started, there was definitely some eye rolling fake bullshite but there were generally at least a FEW people ethat were actually legitimately trying to find a spouse overseas and complete the K1 process. Eventually though that dwindled to now there are zero legit people on anymore. It's all just complete and utter scripted manufactured bullshite that isn't even entertaining anymore. And TLC somehow continues to shove people down out throats that nobody likes anway. Big ed and whatshername, angela's gross abusive arse, the utterly boring loren and alexi, david and annie, etc. We quit watching probably a couple years ago and haven't looked back.

-I've only watched one season of MAFS and it was a few years ago, I think it was based in north carolina. I enjoyed the concept of it but it kinda got boring as it went on. It didn' really captivate me eenoguh to watch any other seasons.

-Currently my wife and I watch the Love/life after lockups. Those of course ALSO have fake, scripted, totally manufactured BS but there's at least a few couples per season that we are intersted in enough to follow along.

-I've watched I think 2 seasons of Love is Blind. I really love the concept here and am always really engrossed during the intial part but once they make their selections and see who they picked i kinda lose interest. The fun to me is in the dance and the picking; once they're together and on their own it's just kinda whatever.

MAFS kind of has the same ebb and flow every season. Everyone watches for the wedding for the potential awkwardness of a broom or groom not impressed by his or her selected mate. The honeymoon segments are always fun because that's when the first big cracks usually appear. Then the show settles down with the return to normal life usually until the couples getaway, when shite tends to get crazy again. My wife and pretty much endure the monotony with it on in the background in anticipation of the big blow ups and reveals.
