I saw a comment somewhere else that mentioned his struggles pretty closely coincide with the sticky stuff ban.
The ban happened in the middle of 2021. He was perfect for 5+ innings in a World Series game after that. I think it's as simple as him not adapting to teams figuring him out.

If there are any Cardinals fans browsing this thread, just know that your team is dog shite led by a dogshit, tryhard manager, and the arch smells like feet.
This pleases me.

IIRC, he still threw more balls than strikes that night and walked several guys.

This is probably the biggest part of it, I agree. His over the top motion and his lethal changeup were good enough to get by when no one had seen it before.

That Braves uniform does something for his ability.

But that was kind of always the case with him.
Didn't he have like 70 pitches in 4 innings of game 7 of the 2020 NLCS?

Anyone watch the Cardinals broadcasts this week? Normally can’t watch out of market broadcasts but had to watch all these games a few hours after they were played so figured I would hate watch Chip.
Anyway, Jim Edmonds was absolutely astonished by how good Acuña is. Kept saying stuff like “this guy might be the best player in the game” or “Have you seen a guy impact the game this many ways in the last 15-20 years?” Today he dropped “The baseball world is in for a real treat if this guy can stay healthy. I haven’t seen a player like this in a long, long time.”
He was flabbergasted, it was almost as if he had never seen him before or thought he had discovered a hidden gem the way he was talking about him. Was funny but also very strange.

Ian Anderson went on the DL with a sore elbow today. Oh boy.
I saw a comment somewhere else that mentioned his struggles pretty closely coincide with the sticky stuff ban. I had not thought of this before but now I do wonder if that has anything to do with his fastball getting crushed and his location getting worse?
Been lurking these threads for a minute. Another poster (forgot his name) commented that Ian has likely thrown his last pitch in the majors as a Brave. I sadly have to agree.
He's been a good long reliever for me in The Show though

Grissom is hitting .500 with a 1.682 OPS. In 16 AB's, he's got 2 doubles, 2 triples and a homer. He's also drawn 4 BB and has yet to strike out.
You can't leave a stat line like that in AAA. With the way Arcia is playing right now at SS, why not call him up and stick him at DH for the time being? Would be an instant upgrade over Ozunbum.

I know I've said that multiple times but I don't think I'm the only one.

I don't think he's seen a healthy Acuna in person since 2019. I watched some of their broadcast too. Chip and Jim were very, very, very complimentary of the Braves all weekend.

Probably too busy having threesomes and dealing with divorce lawyers

This. It’s time to cut our losses with Ozuna and move on. Arcia has been a pleasant surprise, but Grissom has earned a chance to at least get some ML ABs.

To be fair, it's only been 5 games so far.

Wright pitched6 innings last night for Gwinnett, but he kind of got obliterated.

Man if only we could combine them

To be fair I have these same thoughts pretty often

McHugh to the IL, Shuster called back up

I'm not worried about his stat line as much as how he feels a day after and that he's stretched out. I look it like a spring training start.
