Can someone help me find the rules on rain games? Baseball.

What I mean is that back in the 90’s when I played ball, it could come a monsoon and as long as it didn’t lightening we played on. Looks like a lot of rain but not storms (lightening and thunder) this coming weekend in Columbia.

Lightening within so many miles is no go
Tornados are ok as long as you can still see the funnel cloud
Hurricanes are ok now that we have a pitch clock to speed up the game
Those are the ones I KNOW to be rules
Beyond that, I think it’s at the discretion of the umpires/league headquarters as far as play stoppage/play resumption but I’m not positive on that

School/Administration decides if field is okay to start. Once game starts, discretion is to umpires.

No sir! Use to run through puddles in the baseline. Water pouring off our helmets. We played on many times.

Been awesome weather all week in SC and of course it’s going to suck this weekend when I go to Columbia

So... also in absence of lighting, what you also trying to point out is that the ump has sole discretion on conditions of play, right? And it takes 5 full innings to make a game. I'm just confirming here because I don't know it all, no sarcastic or anything? The lighting subsection was either just below I believe:

1. Authority to Rule on Game Stoppage. The umpire-in-chief has sole authority to suspend, postpone, or cancel
the game if conditions become unfit for play.

Every time they come up to play this seems to happen.

Lightening- it's the opposite of 'darkening' or making something darker.

You play with a bunch of guys who threw 100 mph with a wet ball and monsoon rain making it even harder to see? Play with guys that will be millionaires in 2 months unless a freak injury from running around on a wet arse field and slick bases could possibly derail?
