The desire to be a victim of some larger, amorphous evil force is becoming more and more popular nowadays.
O.P. is just getting into position to claim his/ our victimhood.
And, especially if things do not go well on the court, that amorphous, evil force will somehow be associated with those with different political views.

From what I have seen watching WBB games this season the refs do not measure up to the level of play. They also seem to favor the most physical team. In charge or a block situation, they favor calling a charge rather than a block.
