Now that everyone is done singing Clark's praises... Game Plan?

Admittedly, I've only watched the last few LSU games, and I watched Iowa last night.
LSU just needs to play the pick better than SC did last night. Let CC have her points, but make her shots difficult. Just don't let the roll get easy layups. Fight through the pick to take away the easy assist.
Or play zone maybe? Like a 3-2 to take away the outside shot.
What says the rant?

She’s amazing. I think the best chance of slowing her down if she gets food poisoning before the game.

SC was terrible in help or that was their poor plan. Either way there was zero help and Iowa exploited it. If someone plays my team no help I’d take it personal. 3-2 can work. Match up zone maybe. You could triangle 2 but you have to have someone in help at all times or Iowa will burn us. We’re not arrogant like SC we will play the game like we should play it.

Clark feeds off of that dribble drive, pick and rolls with Czinano, and deep threes. If we think we have an on-ball defender that can keep CC in front of her, then I think you play tight man and double when possible off of their defensive guard that never shoots (Gabby something).
When played tight, Clark has shown to get frustrated and jack up deep threes (she’ll hit some) at a lower %. She also turns the ball over trying to make Jason Williams-style passes in traffic. Our post players need to have active hands in lanes.

If LSU can keep her in the 20's they have a very good chance of upsetting Iowa.

Let Clark beat you from 3. Don’t allow so much dribble penetration. Iowa got way too many wide open layups from the pick and roll. LSU has to take it away. SC failed miserably doing that last night

For sure SC's help side was, as you mentioned, non-existent.
I know it's a gimmick defense, but what about a box and 1? Put a defender in man on CC, and play a box zone behind her.
Maybe it's something they can switch to, putting Iowa on their heals.

I was thinking on this too. Do you have the chaser switch to the pick player and the pick defender cut off the ball? or do you have the pick defender drop back to cut off the roll?

Yes. Bottom line is dont come out until the player you’re guarding has the ball unless it’s. Clark or the other shooter
