Headed down Thursday for a short trip. Hopefully I have time to check it out. Though, I don't love climbing up there with nobody around.

Find one of the illegals down there and toss him a $20.

Wife and I both run Visible, her Iphone 7 Plus always seems to outperform my 6 in streaming to the Roku. Since she qualified for ATT Firstnet, we have been running that using a 5G netgear hot spot and it runs circles around my spectrum cable. Sure beats the heck out of the dish tailgator days.

if you mirror with apple you have to have a router or internet connection. You cast Android without those using smart cast

We live in the country where the only option (until Starlink is reliable here and I bit the bullet) is hotspot. We also get the major networks and dozens of Bs antenna channels.

We have a weboost cell booster (I have one for my RVs also) and three lines w 50 gigs of hotspot each. We have two little kids so my wife and I don’t watch much TV. But we do have kids crap playing a lot.

Advice:
Roku is very good at efficiently using hotspot data. Looks great too. We never have more than a bar or two even with the booster, but it works reliably.

We have two iPhone lines and one Galaxy S22. I plug the Galaxy directly into the TV when it’s convenient and especially for movies (I keep kids’ favorites downloaded) or sports. Saves hotspot data and works well. iPhone too but ESPN doesn’t work. They block it and some other apps from playing over HDMI.

We never run out of hotspot data but use most of it each month. I would just be more careful by using the hdmi more if we were cutting it closer.

So yeah Roku and HDMI. Plans with 50 gigs of hotspot are cheap now.

For four tvs it’s the same. Just have to take 10 seconds to connect to hotspot.

Have you checked to see if you get Verizon home 5G. We have it at a rental for $25 a month. It’s blazing fast and consists of one cube w a power cord.

I’d also think Starlink is an option on coast. So RV version if it isn’t officially available.

Oh and I also have Hughesnet which is useless for streaming. Use it for work.

I’ve found this is unreliable. Plugging android directly into HDMI is way better. And trust me when I say I’ve tried every conceivable casting method without wifi internet.

Samsung Dex casting is best but still spotty.

You can set up a home network in your camper with a router then connect the iphone, android hotspot or campground internet and supply all your electronics from there, (TV, Radio, smart thermostats, and anything else that can be controlled by router connection.
