Law is necessary for civilization.
But too much law kills the freedom required for civilization to thrive.
We have too much law at the moment and need rebalancing.

The Police State philosophy of too many laws is how you get stupid NY state laws about business record fraud that seem incomprehensible when actually applied to a factual scenario.
Or civil asset forfeiture (which Trump supported)

If your laws are written as such that the average man understands and there are few, but important laws that bind the population you live in under a rule of law.
