Just a guess. Birmingham seems to think LSU and A&M are big rivals.

A&M: Texas, LSU
Texas: A&M, OU
OU: Texas, Missouri
Missouri: OU, Arkansas
Arkansas: Missouri, Tennessee
Tennessee: Arkansas, Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt: Tennessee, Kentucky
Kentucky: Vanderbilt, South Carolina
South Carolina: Kentucky, Florida
Auburn: Georgia, Alabama
Georgia: Auburn, Florida
Florida: Georgia, South Carolina
Ole Miss: Miss State, Alabama
Alabama: Ole Miss, Auburn
Miss State: Ole Miss, LSU
LSU: Miss State, A&M

Those look pretty good. Tough to argue with any of them.

SEC really trying to force this whole rivalry thing

I’m genuinely curious those that believe or repeat these statements why do you believe A&M is a forced rivalry? My assumption is that you didn’t follow LSU football or sports before the 1990’s and aren’t aware of our history with them.

Do you realize that of the Big 6 only FL and AL have played LSU more times than A&M in football? We’ve played A&M almost as many times as we’ve played TN and GA combined.

In my opinion A&M is probably LSU’s most natural rivalry in the SEC when you consider factors outside of such as proximity of schools, military history, geography of alumni, and the amount of alumni each school has in local industries such oil & gas and petrochemical.
