I wouldn't mind taking Matt Corral off Carolina's hands

They have no need for another young QB now. Throw them a 5th rounder, get a young QB to develop under Carr.

Nonsense. If Corral is allowed to beat out the #1 pick they just gave up the farm for, everyone gets fired.

I actually agree. You don't lose much giving that a try. And he does have a lot of great qualities

Neither would I. It would be tough for me not to take Will Anderson or Jalen Carter. I think Corral is starting caliber. Who knows maybe that’s Carolina’s plan all along and then take one of the guys I mentioned above but you don’t trade multiple 1st for anything but a QB.

And if Corral goes elsewhere and becomes a star they will also be fired

Not if their #1 winds up a star as well.

I think it’s worth a 5th.

Yea they just burned a third rounder on him but by all means I’m sure they will just take a 5th rounder for him after not seeing what he can do for the last year.

Pretty funny the trades y’all throw around not thinking from the other teams prospective.

Yeah, this is stupid. They need a backup in case whoever they draft isn’t ready to go Week 1 or gets hurt. Or they could pull a Patriots move and develop him and showcase him in the preseason and the occasional start if he has to make some, and flip him for a 1st or 2nd rounder next year. They’re not gonna take him in the 3rd 1 year, then trade him for a 5th the next. Especially to a team in the division. That’s retarded.

As for the Saints, I like him. But we’re committed to Carr for 2 or 3 years minimum. By the time that’s done, Corrall will be off his rookie deal. It just doesn’t make much sense for either side.

Now, they may want a veteran backup to help whoever they take at 1, and prefer to not keep 3 QBs on the roster, but they’re not gonna flip MC for anything less than a 2nd—maybe early 3rd—right now.

I agree with your point about them being unlikely to trade him within the division, but if you think they're going to get a 2nd or 3rd for Matt Corral you're crazy. What has he done to increase his value in the last year? He was apparently so impressive to their staff that they traded away their future to draft a different QB. By definition, that means MC's value has plummeted.

There are so many ways you are wrong in this thread. I'm not sure where to start, but here's a few:

We picked garrett grayson in 3rd. We realized he didn't do what we needed and moved on. We would have gladly taken a fifth for him after his first year.

They have lost leverage. Every other team knows you're not going to put the number one pick on the bench.

Corral is not a finished product, and any effort you spend on developing him is effort that could be going towards the number 1 overall pick

I think they going after Stroud from Ohio St, I can't see them going after Bryce Young. But I think they overpaid in giving up all of that to get the No. 1 pick overall. Smh

And I could say the same exact thing about the bs that you just posted. I’m 100 percent right. Unlike your example of Grayson, they haven’t seen what he can really do yet or how he developed over the course of a year, so there is absolutely no reason to give him away for a 5th. They spent a 3rd so I’m sure they would want that or something close, maybe more if he looks good in preseason.

And who says you can’t develop two quarterbacks? Ever hear of Kirk Cousins? They took two QBs that year and still managed to develop both of them. If Griffin had worked out, they could have got a butt load of high picks for either one of them. Griffin actually looked like a star his rookie year before they played him hurt screwing up his career.

And as a Saints fan, you should know about the Steve Walsh/Troy Aikman situation. If not google it and then come back and tell me I’m wrong again.

And please tell me how they lost leverage exactly lol? If you have a product that someone wants, they have to pay asking price. He’s under contract a few more years at a small salary. There’s nothing in the rule book that says they have to trade him or even want too. They just need to sign a cheap vet free agent to mentor both of them and keep 3 QBs on the roster.

Think the 9ers have to take a 7th rounder for Purdy because trey Lance is already on the roster and can’t develop him? That’s how stupid your argument is.
