Also, Lamar doesn't have an agent because he found out the agent gets a cut of his contract. Guy wants every dime.

Who said he isn’t worth a lot of money?
The ravens want to give him a lot of money. As do a lot of teams. They don’t want to guarantee all of it, but he will absolutely reset the market (Watson withstanding) when he resigns. Daniel Jones just got 160 mil, the bar ain’t that high and Lamar is far past it

Don’t besmirch sneaky fast Dan.

This exactly I mean if you have to give an agent 2 million to secure 200 million that means you greedy asf and I wouldn’t want to represent you or have you on my team. He just seems like he’s trying to get the most money and doesn’t care what money they don’t have to get the pieces around him

Some people play the game to win.
Some people play the game to make money.
Some people play the game to do both.
His money, not mine. I just wouldn't wanna be stuck paying him

Everyone is doing this. You believe in a fairy tale
ETA also big QB contracts don’t prevent teams from building around a player. That’s also a myth. Saints are up to their eye balls in salary cap hell supposedly, and yet and happily throw 150 mil in cash at QB without a sweat

They all play to make money. None would do it for free.

I’d do it for league minimum. Not that anyone would pay me. But I would.

It’s the biggest advantage in sports

You wouldn't if you were actually good enough to play in the NFL, and more importantly the league wouldn't allow you to. Lamar is being silly no doubt but never underestimate the collusion that takes place between owners in the league to essentially "determine" how much a player is worth in the current market. Would guess his reasons for losing his agent has to do with collusion no matter the public knowledge. The agents are as tied to the teams/owners as the players are.

Crazy part is, if he gets that $200M contract, his agent would get less than $10M (NFL has a cap on what agents can make. Does he not realize that he would easily make this up with marketing deals?

Because it's not really worth that much. Saints can walk after 2024 and it would only cost $60M (including the $17M in dead money in 2025); or either party can walk after 2025 for $100M (including the $11M in dead money in 2026)
It's also not a true $100M guaranteed. He has to be on the roster after certain points to increase the guarantees from $60M to $100M
