Marfa lights dance, bounce, split in two, merge together, or shoot across the sky, giving observers an awe-inspiring light show.

Boo this man. Marfa, Alphne, and Terlingua are some very beautiful areas

They’re beautiful but full of the most insufferable of Texas hipsters.

Marfa Public Radio is a funny indicator of this. It has more hosts than most big city radio stations do, and they are all hipster transplants, or not even transplanted: Meet the dee-jays

I’ve seen the lights. There is a simple scientific explanation for them. No spoilers, but it’s not aliens.

I think it's the same as the famed Saratoga / Bragg Road Ghost Light in SE Texas.

Been to the Marfa viewing station and yes I saw the lights at night. It looked like two people were running around in the fields with high power led flashlights. Was interesting for about 30 minutes.

Also where Scalia died of a heart attack in a field at midnight.

I'm assuming this is a joke. He died at Cibolo Creek Ranch. A very high dollar resort owned by Houstonian John Poindexter.

Which is located in Marfa. And he wasn't found in a building, he was outside.

But yes, I was making a link between UFOs and Scalia's death in jest

Big Bend is amazing

One of the most remote national parks

Got to the top of Lost Mine trail and could see horizon to horizon and there was no semblance of civilization anywhere. My gf and I were the only two people in the park it felt like.

Like something out of a movie like when the protagonist is lost in the desert and feels like they’re almost to civilization and get to the top of the ridge and realize they’re lost af.

In 2004, a four-day study by Society of Physics students at the University of Texas at Dallas found that the appearance of the lights corresponded with the flow of traffic.

Except there wasn't much vehicular traffic in that area in 1883 when these lights were first reported.

The lights were not first reported in 1883. That was made up after the lights first began appearing in the 1930’s after the road was built.
