We can offer 5* punters and kickers. Not sure they'd be able to develop with the shite ST coaches we have on staff

It’s up to the players to develop. No staff has coaches on par with the private coaches these kids have. I say these kids, IDK who Aaron’s coached by.

Don’t hold your breath on this kid anyway. His family is all huge University of Alabama Gump fans.

I’d be surprised if Bama takes a ‘24.

You are correct even though some are down voting you because they either don't understand or as usual they're just bitching because that's what they do. Very few schools have coaches on staff that compare to the private coaches for K/P/LS. It's up to the kids to develop and work to perfect their craft. They've already been taught the techniques and fundamentals. The schools job is to support that work through whatever means are necessary and legal once on campus.

Doesn’t your kid kick? I know someone has mentioned it on this board once or twice.

Not sure we need another kickoff specialist,
I don’t know, Atkins was an under appreciated asset. I think he was over 80% on touchbacks in 4 of his 5 seasons. Which is ridiculous. Part of our problems on kickoff coverage last year was teams were actually returning them, when they hadn’t been the last 4 or 5 years.
Not being able to kick it through the back of the end zone also opened us up to more kicks out of bounds. I know we had a few last year, a couple being at really bad times. With 85 scholarships, using one on a kickoff specialist who can consistently kick it through the back of the end zone is absolutely worth it imo.

Dibert can absolutely kick it off through the end zone. He can murder it.

I remember you saying that last year, but he didn’t do it consistently. You’d know better than me, but I’d assume there’s not much room for error when trying to kick it as far as possible. You have to connect with it perfectly flush, and he just missed a little too often. Not saying he can’t get better, but this guy is 2 years behind him, so we’ll need him eventually.
Maybe if Dilbert gets better this year, we don’t take him. Or if the new guy proves better, maybe Dilbert gets processed. Regardless, I like the fact that the staff realizes the importance of the position. Not just a kicker, but a kick off specialist specifically. Auto touchbacks can make a big difference in a close game.

He is very legit but I have also heard this…

Dibert was kicking off 80 yards in high school. He kicked off as true freshman in the SEC. That’s legit.

They way you’ve carried yourself as a kicking expert all because your son kicks is hilarious.
It wouldn’t be so bad if you weren’t wrong so often.
