I started pulling out my old dreamcast games and after a few minutes, the game stopped working. Decent used dreamcasts are around $100.
Any ideas on if its worth repairing? It powers up and goes to the menu, but wont recognize the game. Ive tried several games

YouTube and Reddit might be your friend on this one. Some one might have had a similar issue and know a fix.

I have the solution for you because I had to do this with Nba 2k on my Dreamcast 22 years ago. Lower the lid but don’t let it actually latch down. Then put a light book, or something, on the back of the lid so it holds the lid down without latching.
You may have to adjust how far down the lid is for this to work on different games but it never failed me.

Sounds like the disc player to me which is one of the most common failures in old Dreamcast systems. Do you know if the disc still spins?
