I never used it when I lived in Louisiana. Not a chance.

Somewhat related but we just got a new mattress last week and need to get rid of the old one. Wondering if people actually sell used mattresses? Our old one is maybe 5 years old, Serta, had a protector and in good condition. I really just want someone to take it and am not looking to make much. What should I charge (if anything)?

You could always see if you can donate it to a shelter

If you're looking to sell any furniture or a mattress, sometimes it's hard pricing things that are a couple years old. I'd recommend checking out things like OfferUp (is that still around?) so that you can get a price point for it.

Also, lots of places will accept mattresses as a donation. That's what I did bc I was moving and didn't feel like waiting to sell it. But if you have the time, it's minimal effort to make some of the money back.

People will buy anything. I hate sending things to the landfill. I am big on upcycling and reduce/reuse. I would give it away free before I brought it to a dump. Usually a small price actually works better than free. Free brings freeloaders/weirdos, small price usually brings people who are really struggling and appreciative/normal.

Also people who do not use mattress protectors are super ewwww.
