Fortenberry's in Carrierre. Call ahead and make sure they are taking them.

I second Forteberry’s. Double D also isn’t too far in Sun.

I called them yesterday, they have slowed down considerably and are not turning folks away. They only accept m-f and the guys in back are gone at 4pm.

Malley's is just a bit further in the opposite direction. Can only speak to the sausage, but it's pretty dang good.

If you go to Fortenberry's, I recommend getting there around 6am. The line gets long quickly, and they'll turn people away once they run out of meat containers.
And if you're getting sausage made, the extra hot is the way to go. Not spicy, but definitely more seasoning than mild, medium, or hot.

If you are passing back through picayune on the way back Johnson’s meat market on Highway 11 takes deer now as well. Plenty of people are happy with fortenberry though. I haven’t had any sausage made at Johnson’s but they have a top notch butcher shop and a really nice retail area
