I think the climate crisis is overstated/fabricated but based on the laws of thermodynamics wouldn’t hotter areas result in colder areas as well.
I could be wrong it’s been a while since I took a thermo course.

Possibly, but I think the size and scope we're talking about makes that apply differently. The primary source for heat is the sun and it's gi-fricking-normous and puts out a constant butt-load of heat. The whole point is that if we were warming at the rate claimed by the zealots, we would be at the point where it's impossible to see new record cold temperatures anywhere on at least the North American continent.

Those coats aren't that useful with 112 mph winds at that temperature.
You’re not getting it. Wind doesn’t change the temperature of the air.

I grew up in the north. Believe me I get it. I'd rather have 10 degrees and no wind over 25 with 40 mph winds any day of the week. The latter chills you to the bone.

Anytime.
40 degrees, windy and rain is more miserable than 10 degrees and calm by a long arse shot.

It was 36, windy and just dumping rain a couple weeks ago. Hardest rain I can remember seeing under ~45 degrees. Obviously I’ve felt much colder air but I think that’s the coldest my body has ever felt.

Mount Washington is getting more attention that it ever has. Hell, it has two threads on the OT.

Yeah I know what a wind chill is, I already explained why it feels colder when the wind blows your natural body heat away. But using that as any kind of scientific indicator is complete bullshite. Climate propagandists use it all the time to make false claims about climate change.
First thing I saw on Twitter under the -108 trending topic was a bunch of alarmists saying it’s the coldest wind chill “ever recorded,” and it’s only going to get worse! It’s not even a legitimate way to record temperature.

The wind chill — what the temperature feels like — on the summit of Mount Washington, New Hampshire, dropped to minus 108 F.
Sounds like a good place to relocate The Lin Kuei
