I have just completed my sixth straight week of a 72 hour fast. Last meal is Tuesday night. First meal back is Friday night. No food. Just water and coffee.

I have lost 15 pounds.

That’s awesome! How do you feel towards the end of it consistently?

I'll be honest. I don't like it.

Day 1 great
Day 2 struggle and sleep is weird
Day 3 awesome because I’m almost there and I feel the benefit in real time

Long term life style change is better than these quick fixes. Unless you made a huge bet with your buddies...

I don’t get the point. Unless it was just to prove to yourself that you could do it. That’s not sustainable over any period of time.

I stay hydrated.

So last meal is Tuesday night. Next meal is Friday night.
I workout Wednesday morning and run 5 miles on Thursday morning.
No exercise Friday.

Originally I just wanted to see if I could do it. Once I realized how easy it was I tried again the next week. So I just kept going. I just completed the sixth week in a row.

Sounds like a path to binge eating disorder tbh

Sounds extremely unsustainable in the long term.

How have you only lost 15 pounds in 6 weeks?? You must eat like a pig the rest of the week

How much do you think I should have lost?

Going that extreme I’d guess like 30 pounds probably. But that 30 would probably also be a good bit of muscle mass too unless you’re crushing protein the other 4 days per week

I'd have to imagine that when he isn't fasting he is binge eating. And then his body is holding on to those calories in preparation of going into starvation mode.

Why would I need to binge eat? Which I’m not. But 72 hours isn’t that big a deal.

It’s not extreme once you’ve tried it and see what it does. And no there is no muscle loss. That’s not how the body works.

I would have assumed you would have lost more than 15lbs in 6 weeks with that sort of fasting. So I figured you were binge eating
