On paper, yes. This freshman class is THE class they have been waiting for for years. They have a solid core of returning All SEC players, some key transfer additions, and a top 5 recruiting class. Should be a much better performance on the field this year. I reserve the right to complain about Howard Dobson later since I would have fired him 3 years ago but overall there is no reason not to hope a little that this team can be very good at the end of the year.

The offense on paper should be more than fine with Pleasants, Clark, Briggs, Coffey, Newland, Redoutey, and the transfers they added
The pitching though is a big question mark though with the only proven player being Kilponen and then you have a lot of freshmen. I know they were on paper "high rated" but not all freshmen transition quickly year one. Chaffin or one of the freshmen has to step up and emerge behind Kilponen. That was a major issue at the end of last season when we had to throw Ali out there repeatedly because they had no one they trusted behind her
